On 27 July 2026, Regium Touch was certified by the International Trade Centre for completing the E-Commerce for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises programme, delivered under the READY Salone project in Freetown.
We spend most of our year running workshops and building training curricula for other people. This time we were the ones being trained.
What READY Salone actually is
READY Salone is a four-year initiative running from 2024 to 2028, funded by the Korea International Cooperation Agency and implemented by the International Trade Centre alongside Sierra Leone's Ministry of Youth Affairs, Ministry of Communication, Technology and Innovation, and Ministry of Trade and Industry.
Its goal is to prepare 3,000 young Sierra Leoneans and 250 small businesses for the digital economy, with particular attention to young women and persons with disabilities.
The e-commerce track exists because of a gap most people in business here recognise immediately: plenty of Sierra Leonean businesses can sell, but far fewer can sell online in a way that actually holds up. Payments, logistics, listings, customer trust, returns. The unglamorous machinery behind a transaction.
A note on the graduation
Our founder, Caleb King, was invited to sit on the panel at the programme's graduation ceremony, as one of the advanced businesses that came through the training. That invitation mattered more than the certificate did. Being asked to speak about the experience, in front of the next set of businesses about to go through it, is the part we will remember.
Where this goes
We are a training organisation with a target of reaching 3,000 people through the Digital Creators Programme by 2028. You cannot credibly teach what you have not bothered to learn well. So this is less an achievement to display and more a standard we are trying to hold ourselves to.
If you are a Sierra Leonean business trying to work out whether you are actually ready to sell online, that is a conversation we are now considerably better equipped to have.
